On Thursday,
February 18, 2010, Central High School invites you to its 13th
Annual International Day. International Day is part of the
"Multicultural Week" at Central. This event was first initiated by
students who desired to display their diversity and help others to
realize that all cultures, no matter how different, are intertwined.
From 8:00am -
3:15pm, Central will be transformed into an international
extravaganza. It will begin with an assembly program, during which
students will present unique cultural dances and additional
entertainment. Throughout the day, various speakers will provide
seminars describing their international background and
heritage. Students will decorate the school, sell crafts from their
country at a bazaar, and have demonstrations and workshops, such as
Cambodian, African, and Southeast Asian dancing. Students will be
bringing in hundreds of delicious dishes representative of their
countries, creating an International Café. We invite food critics and
the press to dine at the "biggest buffet in town." Faculty and students
will be seen in their native garb creating a celebration of diversity.
